Helen “Rosie” Miesner is a doctoral student in Educational Policy Studies concentrating in social sciences and education. Rosie researches how socio-political contexts shape the practical enactment of special education policy. Rosie is further interested in how school choice programs impact students with disabilities and how policy confluence shapes the everyday practices of K-12 teachers. Rosie previously taught elementary general education in New York and elementary special education in Wisconsin. She holds an MA in educational policy studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2017) and an MS in early childhood general and special education from Bank Street College of Education (2014).
