Diana Chioma Famakinwa is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Educational Policy Studies with a concentration on comparative and international education and a minor in African studies. Her Fulbright-funded dissertation examines the role of diaspora engagement in the capacity building and internationalization of Nigerian higher education. During her time in Madison, Diana has been involved in community and institutional efforts to establish or strengthen local and international partnerships. She has worked as the partnership coordinator for a local nonprofit organization and as the project assistant for the International Projects Office in UW–Madison’s International Division. Beyond Madison, she has served in various capacities assessing and improving students’ educational experiences and outcomes. In her free time, Diana enjoys traveling and immersing herself in African literature.
